GSU Now Has All 63 Undergraduate Courses Fully Accredited
In a major academic milestone, Gombe State University (GSU) has secured full accreditation for six of its academic programmes across three key faculties. The announcement was made public through an official release signed by the Director of Academic Planning, Professor A. D. Bajoga, following recent evaluations conducted by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The full accreditation, which was granted after a thorough assessment exercise held in October and November 2024, covers the following programmes:
Business Administration – Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
Education English and Education History – Faculty of Education
Pharmacy – Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Biology and Geology – Faculty of Science
The accreditation process involved critical evaluation of curriculum content, academic staffing, physical facilities, and the general academic environment. GSU met all the stringent requirements set by the NUC, reflecting its unwavering commitment to quality education and academic excellence.
Reacting to the development, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta, commended the efforts of the university community, especially the dedicated staff and students of the affected departments. He also appreciated the general public for their continued support.
“This is yet another milestone that underscores our steady progress towards maintaining national and international standards in education,” Professor Yauta remarked.
With this recent development, all 63 undergraduate programmes offered at Gombe State University now enjoy full accreditation status from the NUC — a remarkable achievement for the institution.
GSU reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining academic excellence and positioning itself as a centre of learning, innovation, and national relevance.
