FEDERAL UNIVERSITY LOKOJA (FUL) RELEASES REVISED CALENDAR FOR THE 2024/2025 ACADEMIC SESSION
The management of Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has officially released the reviewed academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic session. This comes after an update dated Wednesday, May 21, 2025, which details adjustments made to accommodate disruptions and national holidays.
According to the calendar released by the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Hadi Ahmed Suberu, the first semester for new and returning students began with resumption on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Registration for returning students ran from November 25 to December 6, followed by a week of late registration and course adjustment.
New students were scheduled to register between December 9 and December 20, while lectures officially began on November 25 and extended through January 3, 2025. A one-week continuous assessment was conducted in early January, followed by the matriculation ceremony on March 28, 2025.
The calendar highlights a major disruption between February 17 and March 11, 2025, when the university closed due to a tragic motor accident involving students. This led to a continuation of lectures from January 13 to April 11, with semester examinations scheduled between April 14 and May 16, 2025.
The second semester is set to resume on Sunday, May 18, 2025, with lectures running from May 19 to August 29. Examinations will take place from September 1 to October 3, followed by a Senate meeting to consider results on October 9. The session concludes with a second semester break from October 6 to October 25.
In addition to academic activities, the institution noted that all national public holidays will be strictly observed, including Christmas Day (Dec. 25), New Year (Jan. 1), Eidul-Fitr (Mar. 31), and Nigerian Independence Day (Oct. 1).
